1926 Alvis
This car had been partly restored prior to coming to us, but we were not happy with the quality of the wooden body frame. On further inspection we needed to first straighten, repair and re-rivet the chassis and then we could make a new, dimensionally correct, wooden body frame using Southland Beech. We made all new aluminum body panels including the bonnet and mudguards, all of which was painstakingly polished to a high finish. All bright work was repaired or made new, polished and nickel plated. We sandblasted and painted all the running gear ready for the owner who wished to assemble himself. This project ended up being larger than anticipated as the further we delved into the car the more correction work we discovered that needed to be completed first.
